Zeno Clash Review
It looks like Tim Schafer's 'monopoly' on wildly surreal gaming worlds could
be over with the arrival of the punk fantasy game Zeno Clash and that's great,
because we can't get enough of such daredevils. However, ACE team goes far
beyond the distinctive art style. Instead of the conventional shooting-as-always,
they developed the first-person combo-based melee system that is not only
refreshing, but it works surprisingly well too. A hint in advance: one of
the frequently needed action buttons is F5 for taking screenshots!

ACE Team is now tremendously busy with finalising the upcoming
punk fantasy
PC game 'Zeno Clash', but Andres Bordeu, Co-Founder and Game Designer of ACE Team,
kindly agreed to answer few questions.
Zeno Clash is a first-person action PC game set in a punk-fantasy world and
emphasizing complex close combat system. The game has been awarded
'Editor's Choice: Best Upcoming Indie' at ModDB's 2008 awards and nominated
in 'Excellence in Visual Art' at the Independent Games Festival. A lot of
media has expressed that the game is worth checking out just for the art itself.
Andres Bordeu reveals inspirations behind the surrealistic designs; he talks
about unique achievements, a possible porting to Xbox 360, DLC, the
gameplay and more.

Today ACE Team announces the release of
Zeno Clash DEMO, so all the people who have not
played it can give it a run through. The demo features a portion of the
single-player campaign and the first tower level from the Challenge mode.
Demo players will be able to post scores if they complete the first tower
challenge.

Zeno Clash Downloadable
Content (DLC): Model Pack for Garry's Mod. It's completely
FREE and it
includes 49 character models, 14 creature models and 8 weapon models from
the game Zeno Clash for using with Garry's Mod. This is a sweet addition
of surreal assets to the existing large library of GMod. The gamers can
download the free DLC right now and start developing their own Zeno Clash
inspired videos, screens and other custom content.

We played nearly finished build of Zeno Clash and it looks like the future
of games could be in the hands of independent studios. While mega-corporations
are safely investing in iterations of well established IPs, independent
developers have courage and freedom to bring new ideas to the table.
And that's the case with Zeno Clash, a punk-fantasy fighting game
from the small Chilean studio ACE Team.
